Beneficial Books for Maine

On October 25, 2023, there was a mass shooting in Maine.  The suspect was on the run and I reached out to a friend and collegue in Maine.  The next morning I awakened abruptly and my only thought was "We can help.  We know how to do this."  After talking to my Maine colleague, I went to work.  By the end of the day, the Board approved using our expertise and system to get children's books to Maine families that addressed "When I Feel Worried."  The book is by Cornelia Maude Spelman and illustrated by Kathy Parkinson. The story and images explore identify our feeling of worry and learning what eases the worry.  Every book is labeled A Gift for You.

And now, we are raising $600 and shipping books and our partners in Maine will distribute to families with early learning to add to home libraries.

All donations received through our Facebook page and website by Thanksgiving 11/23/23, will go to the Books for Maine fund.  Checks are also welcome with the designation MAINE in the memo.

Thank you for easing the pain!

Giving helps the giver as much as the recipient.  It has eased my pain.
